Licensure and Certifications

A brief introduction … I obtained a master’s degree in social work; I passed the licensure test and can practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Missouri and Illinois. I have further education in behavioral health disorders and interventions, and I have the following certifications: Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC), Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) and Certified Professional Interventionist (CIP). I also have received additional education to be a Civil and Family Mediator.

Education

I completed my master’s degree at Saint Louis University (SLU) and my undergrad at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. My Civil and Family Mediation training was obtained from Missouri State University. I have been trained in the Johnson Model of Intervention, however by approach is client centered and system based.

Bio

I present it the above way to say, yes, I am educated and trained to do what I do. However, I do not let that dictate who I am—which is much more than my work, training and education. I used to say “I am a LCSW, CADC, SAP, MAC, CIP” …but that is not who I am. I am a one-of-a-kind human placed on this earth to find my way to self-actualization. Along the way, I hope to help others find their way!

I may have a lot of certifications that indicate I specialize in addiction; however, it is not my only specialty. I also have vast knowledge of other mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety and bipolar, to name a few. My practice focuses on the systems surrounding the identified person (or persons) seeking help—whether that be the family, the spouse, the partner, the parents or the office. I also have working relationships with treatment providers all over the country and abroad.

Employment

I currently serve as President of Recovery360, I’m the program director of the Missouri Dental Associations’ Well Being Foundations’ Voluntary Wellness Program, and for the Association of Intervention Specialists. I also serve as a Private Practitioner at Unity Counseling.
